RV Solar System Details
Storage Modifications
As any Airstream owner will tell you, storage space is at a premium. We combined spaces from 3 different compartments to install 560ah of lithium battery, inverter, solar chargers and everything else to make it work AND kept most of the usable storage space.
Custom Battery
When space is limited we need to get creative and that is where a custom battery comes in. We buy raw 3.2v lithium cells to make a custom shaped battery. These are the same cells used in off the shelf batteries you might see in our other installs.
We build, balance, and program this battery with all the features you'd expect. All our custom batteries have low temp charging cut off and other thermal protections through the Daly BMS.
Final Installation
We tucked the Multiplus 3000, Orion Smart Charger, Smart Solar Charger, Lynx Distributor, Cerbo GX and everything else nice and neat against the back wall. Take note of how much space is still there.
Solar Panels
We removed the stock 90w Zamp panel and added 6 Rich Solar 100w panels. There is not much room up there so there will be significant shading. To combat this we installed them in a 2s3p configuration to keep PV voltage up while still having parallel redunancy.
