We've seen everything from improper installation of fuses causing fuse blocks to meltdown or a DC disconnect being undersized for the load. We ran into another situation where a previous installer configured 1400w of solar panels in series running in parallel with a single 300w panel with wildly different voltages causing wires and connectors to melt on the roof of the RV.
Luckily most times it's less dangerous things like misconfiguring solar chargers, Multiplus inverters, smart shunt battery monitors and more. In many times we can do this over the phone or if needed we can do service at out location or do a service call.
